Enhancement of bilateral, regional relations tops agenda of Pakistan FM visit to Iran: Envoy

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Mohammad Ali Hosseini said on Monday that an upcoming visit to Iran by Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be focused on exploring ways for expansion of bilateral relations and exchange of views on regional developments.

Speaking to IRNA, the ambassador said that the upcoming visit is Zardari’s first visit to Iran after appointment to the post.

Hosseini said that the Pakistani foreign minister and his Iranian counterpart are scheduled to review the developments going on in the region, particularly the Afghanistan issue.

The ambassador noted that border exchanges between Iran and Pakistan have grown significantly over the past few years and the senior officials from both countries are resolved to further boost such relations.

He noted that Iran and Pakistan have constructive bilateral and regional cooperation in the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
