30 Injured in Massive Fire at Fuel Facility in Sulaymaniyah

Sulaymaniyah: Around 30 people were injured in a massive fire that broke out at a fuel facility in Iraq's northern Sulaymaniyah province. According to Anadolu Ajansi, the incident was reported by local media, highlighting the alarming nature of the event.

Aram Ali, the spokesman for the Sulaymaniyah Civil Defence Directorate, stated that the fire erupted at a complex used for storing petroleum products in the Tanjaro area, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). Civil defence teams quickly responded to the emergency and successfully extinguished the blaze.

Sulaymaniyah Deputy Governor Shaho Osman assured the public that the fire was completely controlled and emphasized that there would be no impact on the supply of fuel and petroleum products in the province. His comments were reported by local news outlet Shafaq News.

Sulaymaniyah Civil Defence Director Brig Gen Ari Mohammed confirmed that four firefighters sustained injuries and received immediate treatment on site. The fire, which started after midnight, was accompanied by explosions in tanks containing highly flammable materials, prompting security forces to secure the area and redirect traffic.

According to Shafaq News, the fire resulted in approximately 30 people suffering from burns of varying severity, most of whom were workers and site crew members. While most of the injured were treated and discharged from the hospital, an Iranian worker remained under medical care due to severe injuries.
