Baghdad, An explosion likely caused by a gas leak in a building housing asylum seekers in central Italy injured at least 31 people, one of whom in serious condition.

A video clip published by the Italian Civil Protection shows parts of the two-storey building in San Lorenzo Nuovo, consisting of small apartments housing asylum seekers, reduced to rubble after the explosion.

ANSA news agency reported that one of the injured was in serious condition and was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Rome and is currently in a coma, and that the Italian authorities are still investigating to find out the causes of the explosion.
