Ardabil: Head of Iran's Emergency Medical Services Organization announced that during the recent American-Israeli war on Iran, at least 449 medical centers across the country were damaged, 26 emergency service personnel martyred and 118 others were injured.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Jafar Miadfar, speaking to reporters at a press conference at Ardabil University of Medical Sciences, detailed the extent of the damage. The attacks targeted 74 logistics units, 62 ambulances, 54 emergency stations, and 42 hospitals. Among these, nine hospitals were fully destroyed and rendered completely out of service.
Furthermore, four air ambulance units and the country's only medical emergency sea vessel, which was used to transfer patients from Hormuz Island to Bandar Abbas, were also targeted by the enemy forces.
Despite the heavy losses, Miadfar emphasized that emergency services were able to provide medical care to 40,000 injured people and conducted 1,283 successful surgeries during the conflict.
