Security forces arrested a drug dealer who caused a large number of victims to become addicted, in central Baghdad. The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement today that: "By a judicial decision issued by the Central Investigation Court in Rusafa and by orders of the Director General of Narcotics Affairs, the Special Investigation Commission, supported by the tactical team of the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs, carried out a qualitative intelligence operation according to accurate information in Karrada area in central Baghdad, last night, which was a painful blow to criminal gangs as it revealed their weakness." It added: "The operation resulted in the arrest of drug dealers red-handed, who caused a large number of victims to become addicted and led them to use narcotics in order to earn illicit money."
