A joint force from the 16th Brigade and the Special Forces and Intelligence Regiment in the Kirkuk and East Tigris Operations Command of the PMF, in conjunction with the security of the Popular Mobilization Forces, a force from the army and the Federal Police, carried out a security duty in the industrial area and nearby neighborhoods in Kirkuk Governorate. The Popular Mobilization Authority stated in a statement that the duty included searching a large number of homes and verifying information with the aim of searching for wanted persons, explaining that this comes within the security plan for the holy month of Muharram and for the purpose of securing and enhancing security stability in the governorate.
