The match will take place at Al-Madina International Stadium in Baghdad, which has a capacity of 35,000 spectators. Initially scheduled to be held at Karbala International Stadium, the venue was changed due to incomplete preparations at the original site. Meanwhile, Al-Hilal, the record five-time champions of the competition, are looking to extend their dominance as they enter their 19th participation in the tournament. They will face Uzbekistan's Pakhtakor on Tuesday. However, the Riyadh-based club is still waiting for the return of Brazilian star Neymar, who suffered a significant knee injury while playing for Brazil last year, shortly after his high-profile move from Paris Saint-Germain. Al-Ahli also embarks on its campaign with the spotlight on its latest high-profile signing, England international Ivan Toney, who was acquired for over $45 million. The Jeddah-based club will host Iran's Persepolis in their opening fixture.
