The General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs at the Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a wanted suspect for drug trafficking and premeditated murder in Dhi Qar after armed clashes. The Directorate stated in a statement that a specialized team from the Dhi Qar Drug Affairs Directorate carried out a qualitative operation in Al-Shatra district in Dhi Qar Governorate based on accurate information, as armed clashes occurred during the setting up of a tight ambush for an accused wanted by the Anti-Narcotics Directorate and other security agencies involved in drug trafficking and premeditated murder crimes, which resulted in his injury and arrest in flagrante delicto and the seizure of criminal exhibits after he fired live bullets at the holding detachment trying to escape, which led to the injury of one of our members while carrying out the sacred national duty of combating drugs.
