Hussein expressed his hope that the two friendly countries, Iran and Iraq, would continue to cooperate and interact closely on various issues related to bilateral relations and important regional and international issues. For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi expressed his appreciation and thanks for the phone call and congratulations from his Iraqi counterpart, and stressed the special efforts made by the new government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to comprehensively expand and deepen relations between the two neighboring and Muslim countries, and thanked the Iraqi Prime Minister for inviting President Pezeshkian to visit Baghdad and welcomed it.
