Tehran: Iran's Judiciary Chief, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Eje'i, has paid tribute to Ali Larijani, describing his martyrdom as a major loss for the Islamic Republic and praising his contributions to national security and public service. Speaking during a visit to Larijani's family, the Judiciary chief said Iran had lost a great national asset, adding that many dimensions of Larijani's personality and achievements remain insufficiently recognized.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mohseni Eje'i described Larijani as a distinguished scholar, courageous statesman, capable manager, and dedicated public servant whose commitment to serving the country was reflected throughout his career. The judiciary chief said Larijani accepted the position of secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) following the 12-day war last year, calling the decision an act of self-sacrifice.

He said Larijani initiated important reforms and strategic measures during his brief tenure and worked tirelessly to strengthen the country's national security. Mohseni Eje'i also praised Larijani's management style, saying he combined expertise, determination, and courage while maintaining humility in his interactions with colleagues and officials.

He noted that Larijani regularly met with senior officials from various sectors and sought cooperation even with individuals who had previously disagreed with him. Expressing condolences to Larijani's family, Mohseni Eje'i said the martyred official's loss had deeply saddened the country. He also honored Larijani's son, who was also killed, and offered prayers for both father and son, while commending the family's devotion and sacrifice.
