Araghchi Emphasizes Strengthened Tehran-Baku Relations and Future Cooperation

Tehran: Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi has highlighted that Tehran and Baku are committed to building a shared, secure, and honorable future based on mutual respect. In a recent Instagram post, Araghchi detailed the programs, goals, and outlook for Tehran-Baku relations following his trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during his visit on December 7-8, Araghchi engaged in extensive meetings with several key Azerbaijani leaders, including President Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, and Speaker of the Parliament Sahiba Gafarova. Araghchi emphasized that the relationship between Iran and Azerbaijan extends beyond mere geographical proximity, underscoring deep historical and cultural ties that bind the peoples of both nations.

Araghchi further explained that the current trajectory of Iran-Azerbaijan relations is expanding across various sectors, such as economic and transit, political, cultural, and humanitarian fields. Both nations are committed to elevating their cooperation to a strategic level, leveraging their shared historical and cultural foundation.

He also noted that all discussions underlined the importance of maintaining stability and security in the South Caucasus as essential for regional progress and prosperity. Additionally, Araghchi stressed that no third party should disrupt the constructive relations between Tehran and Baku, reiterating the shared commitment of both countries to a secure and honorable future founded on mutual respect.
