Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has commended journalists on Journalists' Day, recognizing their pivotal role in aiding society's comprehension of global developments and Iran's international stance.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a message commemorating Journalists' Day on August 8, Araghchi emphasized the necessity of an accurate perspective and profound knowledge of diplomatic complexities to understand global developments and Iran's position. He highlighted the valuable contributions of journalists who cover foreign policy in shaping such understanding.

Araghchi noted that the occasion serves as an opportunity to honor those dedicated to truthfulness amidst the constant flow of news, urging them to observe meticulously, question boldly, and report responsibly.

He further lauded Iranian journalists for their bravery and responsibility during the recent imposed war, acknowledging their presence alongside the people during challenging times. Araghchi praised their efforts in accurately documenting events within the country and communicating them to the global audience.

Iran observes Journalist's Day annually on August 8 to honor the profession and to remember Iranian journalist Mahmoud Saremi, who was killed in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afghanistan, in 1998.
