Araghchi Outlines Future US-Iran Negotiations to Focus Solely on Nuclear Issue

Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that any future negotiations with the United States would be strictly limited to the nuclear issue. Iran’s stance has consistently been clear regarding missile and regional concerns, Araghchi stated while addressing reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi responded to inquiries about Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi’s recent visit to Oman, explaining that the trip was intended for periodic political discussions. He also addressed the situation involving two French nationals imprisoned in Iran, confirming they had been convicted of espionage. The judiciary announced they were granted Islamic clemency on Tuesday night.

Furthermore, Araghchi mentioned the release of Mahdieh Esfandiari, an Iranian national, who is now at the Iranian embassy. Esfandiari, who had resided in France for almost eight years, vanished mysteriously on March 1, 2025, prompting her family to alert the Iranian authorities. Subsequent consular investigations discovered that French police had detained her due to her activities on a pro-Palestine Telegram channel.
