Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stressed the need to further develop bilateral relations between Iran and Ethiopia and enhance cooperation within the BRICS framework during a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Addis Ababa.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi met Ambassador Ali-Akbar Rezaei on Saturday, during which the Iranian envoy presented a comprehensive report on the latest state of ties and outlined the embassy's activities in the Ethiopian capital. This report detailed the current status of bilateral relations, regional developments, and planned initiatives to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
Araghchi, for his part, underscored Africa's strategic position in the Islamic Republic of Iran's foreign policy and the historically expanding ties between Tehran and Addis Ababa. The top diplomat emphasized the necessity of sustained development of bilateral relations, the utilization of existing capacities to broaden cooperation in areas of mutual interest, and the strengthening of coordination and collaboration in international forums, particularly within BRICS.
