Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized the integral role of media in diplomacy, asserting that diplomacy, the battlefield, and media collectively move forward to achieve national interests. Araqchi made these remarks on Monday during the final weekly press briefing of Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, as the current Iranian calendar year approaches its end on Thursday.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araqchi reiterated his stance on the synergy between diplomacy and media, stating, "I have said many times that diplomacy and media move in step with each other. Diplomacy, the battlefield, and the media advance together, and we have always sought to achieve national interests side by side." He extended his gratitude to journalists and conveyed his wishes for a happy and prosperous new year to the people of Iran and the media community.
Reflecting on the past year, Araqchi described it as eventful and marked by significant challenges. He acknowledged the media's presence in documenting these events and expressed appreciation for their role. Araqchi noted the year's emotional spectrum, mentioning both sorrow and joy but highlighting the numerous griefs faced, including the martyrdom of President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. He concluded with a prayer for a better destiny for Iranians and all Muslims.
