Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasizes the significant role that the International Atomic Energy Agency (I.A.E.A.) is expected to play in the peaceful resolution of Iran's nuclear program dispute in the forthcoming months.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araqchi expressed these views in a post on his X account on Thursday. He stated, "Had useful discussion with visiting IAEA chief Grossi. In the coming months, the Agency can play a crucial role in peaceful settlement of the Iranian nuclear file."

Araqchi highlighted the challenges posed by various actors attempting to undermine the ongoing negotiations. He stressed the need for a "Director General of Peace" to counteract these efforts. "Our predisposition is to trust Grossi in mission to keep the Agency away from politics and politicization, and to retain focus on its technical mandate," he concluded.

The comments followed Araqchi's meeting with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the I.A.E.A., who was in Tehran for an official two-day visit.
