The Directorate stated in a statement that: "As part of the continued implementation of qualitative operations by the heroes of the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense, the detachments of the Babylon Intelligence and Security Directorate were able to arrest an accused who trades in mercury in Babylon Governorate, and (1 kg) of mercury was seized in his possession," noting that "legal measures were taken against him and he was handed over to the competent authorities."
