Ahvaz: Following the aggressive act committed by the US on Wednesday evening, targeting a point close to a children's cancer hospital in Iran's Ahvaz, the foreign ministry spokesperson described the act as a 'cowardly war crime.'

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Esmaeil Baqaei, the foreign ministry spokesperson, announced on his X page that Shahid Baqaei Hospital, a children's cancer treatment center in Ahvaz, was evacuated after the US attacked a nearby location. The act, which Baqaei likened to Israel's attacks on healthcare facilities, resulted in significant distress and forced the emergency evacuation of 211 patients undergoing chemotherapy.

"This constitutes a cowardly war crime against the most innocent of human beings-children who are bravely fighting for their lives," Baqaei stated. He criticized those who advocate for human rights but ignore the targeting of hospitals, declaring that they have lost all moral credibility.

In response to the US airstrikes near Shahid Baqaei Hospital, the center has been evacuated to ensure the safety of its patients. All individuals receiving treatment have been transferred to other medical facilities. Shahid Baqaei Hospital in Ahvaz is a specialized treatment center in Khuzestan Province, dedicated to serving patients with cancer and hematologic diseases, particularly children.
