Beirut: Lebanese and Yemeni analysts have emphasized that the assassination of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, by the US and Israeli terrorist regimes did not achieve their goal of collapsing the Islamic Republic; rather, it became a catalyst for national unity and a mass uprising of free people around the world.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Hussein Hajj Hassan, the head of the Baalbek-Hermel parliamentary bloc and a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in the Lebanese Parliament, emphasized that the US and Israeli regimes aimed to collapse the Islamic Republic through the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. However, his martyrdom became a source of unity between the nation and the government.
He pointed to Iran's strategic use of the Strait of Hormuz as a key factor that brought the US to the negotiating table and led to the signing of the framework of an agreement.
Additionally, the Yemeni writer and political activist, Muhammad Al-Mushki, noted in a message on his Telegram account that the US and Israeli regimes had attempted to overthrow the Islamic system through the assassination of Imam Khamenei. Yet, his martyrdom sparked another revolution that renewed and strengthened the previous one.
Ayatollah Khamenei was martyred in a joint US-Israeli terror attack on Tehran on February 28, 2026, at the outset of a 40-day war of aggression against Iran. His martyrdom triggered widespread mourning across the region and the world.
