The Kingdom of Bahrain issued a statement today condemning the military operation against Iran, expressing deep concern over the ongoing escalation of tensions in the region. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Manama's call on the international community to take responsibility and advocate for an immediate, comprehensive, and permanent ceasefire. It urged all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize de-escalation to prevent the expansion of conflict and war. It also emphasized the need to revive peace negotiations to achieve regional security and stability, and ensure that all peoples in the region live in dignity, safety, peace, and prosperity. The ministry also highlighted the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon, and called for the protection of civilians, their safe return to their homes, and the release of hostages and detainees. The ministry also emphasized the importance of allowing unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid and complying with relevant UN Security Council resolutions regarding the situation in Gaza. It underscored the need for the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 concerning Lebanon, commitment to the Taif Agreement, and an end to the cycle of violence and escalation, all of which are critical to preserving peace and security in the Middle East and beyond.
