Tehran: Belarusian Ambassador to Tehran Dmitry Koltsov has announced his country’s readiness to enhance economic and trade relations with various cities across Iran. During a meeting with the mayor of Tabriz, a northwestern Iranian city, Ambassador Koltsov described the relations between Iran and Belarus as ‘very dynamic’ and expressed hope for their further development.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, cooperation between all cities of Iran and Belarus is currently on the agenda, as stated by Ambassador Koltsov. He emphasized the importance of expanding regional cooperation, strengthening economic and commercial ties, and enhancing collaboration in the transportation sector between Tabriz and Belarusian cities.

The ambassador also revealed plans for a delegation from the Belarusian city of Mogilev to visit Tabriz. He proposed a virtual meeting between the municipalities of Tabriz and Mogilev within the next three to four weeks to finalize the travel schedule and key areas of cooperation.

In response to Koltsov’s remarks, Mayor Yaghoub Houshyar highlighted Tabriz’s industrial capacity, mentioning the city’s significant activity in heavy industries such as steel, confectionery and chocolate production, and automobile manufacturing.
