Sistan and Baluchestan: The bodies of five Sunni Basij (volunteer) forces recently martyred by terrorists were buried following a funeral ceremony in southeastern Iran. The funeral procession took place in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, three days prior, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced the martyrdom of five Basij forces during a terrorist attack in Sirkan, located in the city of Saravan in Sistan and Baluchestan. Governor Mansour Bijar reported that four of the individuals were martyred while praying and clarified that the attackers were not Baluch. He highlighted that both Shias and Sunnis make sacrifices to defend Islamic Iran. The governor emphasized that Saravan's security forces are actively pursuing the terrorists involved in the attack. Following the incident, the public relations office of the IRGC Ground Force in southeastern Iran released a statement confirming the martyrdom of the five Baluch members of the B asij, a volunteer force within the IRGC. The governor further stated that attempts to destabilize various regions of Iran, especially Sistan and Baluchestan, are ambitions of terrorist groups backed by the US and Israeli espionage services, which will not be realized.
