Tehran: Britain has imposed sanctions on a Sweden-based network, accusing it of conducting attacks across Europe with support from Iran. The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office announced the sanctions against the group known as Foxtrot and its leader, Rawa Majid, citing their alleged involvement in violence targeting Jewish and Israeli entities in Europe.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Britain claims that these violent acts were carried out on behalf of Iran. The British ministry's statement highlighted previous actions, stating, "Last month, we announced that Iran will be placed on the enhanced tier of the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS) and to date, the U.K. has sanctioned more than 450 Iranian individuals and entities."
Iranian officials have dismissed these allegations. Esmaiel Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, rejected the British claims, describing them as unfounded and an attempt to divert blame. Baqaei further criticized Britain's historical interventions against Iran, accusing London of persistently supporting anti-Iranian terrorist groups.
