Accra:Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has criticized the British government, stating it cannot hide its role in the current instability in West Asia by shifting blame and distorting the reality of the situation.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei responded to British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband's remarks, which labeled Iran's defensive actions as "aggression." In a post on his X account, Baqaei asserted that the chaos in the region results from unlawful interventions, including those supported or facilitated by the UK.
Baqaei further argued that Miliband's portrayal of Iran as the 'aggressor,' following two rounds of unlawful aggression against Iran within nine months, represents a distorted reversal of victim and aggressor roles. He described it as a continuation of the UK's history of hostile actions against Iran. Baqaei likened the situation to absurdly portraying Nazi Germany as a 'defender of peace' while casting the UK and its allies in World War II as aggressors.
