Cambodian Prime Minister Criticizes US-Israeli Actions Against Iran and Advocates for Enhanced Bilateral Ties

Tehran: In a meeting with the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Prime Minister of Cambodia condemned the recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran and the violation of international principles and values; and described the arrival of the new Iranian ambassador in Phnom Penh as the start of a significant new phase in cooperation between the two nations while stressing the expansion of bilateral relations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Akbar Ghasemi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Cambodia, met with the country's Prime Minister, Hun Manet, and discussed ways to expand relations in the political, economic, agricultural, technological, cultural, and tourism sectors, as well as convening the two countries' joint economic commission.

Welcoming the Iranian ambassador to Phnom Penh, the Prime Minister of Cambodia described his presence as the start of a significant new phase in bilateral cooperation and expressed hope that substantial strides would be made during this period to enhance cooperation between the two countries.

Hun Manet also condemned the recent aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, describing the country as an aggrieved nation that has come under attack.

He characterized the act as a blatant violation of international principles and values ??and, while condemning the martyrdom of the Islamic Republic of Iran's leader, expressed his solidarity with the Iranian people.

Welcoming the activation of exchanges between the public and private sectors of the two countries, the Prime Minister of Cambodia expressed interest in convening a joint economic commission and called for the activation of political and economic committees through the two countries' foreign ministries to achieve this goal.

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, for his part, while conveying the greetings of Mohammad Reza Aref-Iran's First Vice President-to the Prime Minister of Cambodia, expressed hope that-in light of new developments in West Asia and East Asia regions and given the significant potential for synergy between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Cambodia's development projects-Iranian technical and engineering service companies, business owners, and commercial actors would play an active role.

Ghasemi also called for the convening of the political committee, the economic commission, and meetings between businesspeople and investors, as well as the holding of joint exhibitions between the two countries, within the framework of the new phase of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Cambodia.
