Tehran: Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, the commander-in-chief of Iran's Army, has asserted that Israel is incapable of inflicting harm on Iran, emphasizing the Islamic Republic's readiness to respond effectively to any threats. Mousavi made these remarks in Tehran while speaking to reporters at the unveiling ceremony of the Army's Encyclopedia of the Sacred Defense, an eight-volume collection detailing Iran's defense during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mousavi labeled Israel as too insignificant to damage Iran's stature, stressing that Iran possesses the capability to pose significant challenges to Israel and its allies. He referenced previous military operations against Israel in April and October last year, known as the True Promise operations, as examples of Iran's readiness to deliver appropriate responses to aggression.
The comments followed inquiries about recent statements by Israeli officials regarding potential strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. Mousavi's assertions were mirrored by Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, the deputy commander of the Iranian Armed Forces for coordination affairs, during a ceremony in Qom commemorating Sacred Defense martyrs. Sayyari reiterated the army's readiness to decisively defeat any adversary, warning that threats would be met with a strong response.
Sayyari reflected on the historical context of the 1980s war, noting that adversaries underestimated Iran's strength at the time but were ultimately defeated. He affirmed that Iran remains fully prepared to confront enemies with the support of its people, highlighting the nation's resilience in the face of threats.
