Nicosia: Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union, has welcomed the finalization and signing of a memorandum of understanding by the presidents of Iran and the United States, calling the agreement an important step toward strengthening regional stability.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the remarks came during a telephone conversation on Thursday between Kombos and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. During the call, Araghchi elaborated on the dimensions and provisions of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, expressing hope that the agreement would mark the beginning of a new chapter in the Islamic Republic of Iran's relations with other countries and pave the way for expanded interactions and cooperation, particularly in the economic sphere.
