Buraidah, The Dates Carnival in Buraidah starts tomorrow. It is organized by the Governorate of Qassim Region and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, under the supervision of the National Center for Palms and Dates, with the support of Qassim Municipality and the region's Police Department. The carnival is the world's most prominent agricultural economic event and will continue for 51 days in two morning and evening shifts. It includes multiple events and activities and prepares to receive more than 2000 vehicles daily loaded with hundreds of tons in Buraidah. More than 4,300 young men and women will participate in various fields. Farmers and traders will display more than 50 varieties of Qassim dates in the economic carnival, including "Sukkari, Barhi, and Saqi." The Buraidah Dates Carnival is also known for its purchasing power and recording the region's most robust revenues. This year, it aims to exceed last year's figures and keep pace with the Kingdom's progress in all fields. In 2023, the number of farmers' vehicles that entered the market exceeded 60,000, carrying more than 7 million packages, which is close to 300,000 tons. Additionally, last year's carnival had over 400,000 visitors. The number of palm trees in the Kingdom exceeds 34 million, distributed across all regions, with the Qassim region accounting for 11.2 million palm trees.
