Iran: Iran's navy commander emphasizes that the defense industry serves as a crucial foundation for safeguarding the nation's independence, security, and national interests.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Navy, highlighted on Defense Industry Day, August 22, the significance of this occasion as a symbol of national self-reliance. This self-reliance has been fostered by generations who have strengthened Iran's security through domestic capabilities and determination.
Irani pointed out that despite facing sanctions and hostility, Iran's defense industry has flourished, relying on the faith and expertise of Iranian specialists. This sector has played a substantial role in maintaining the country's independence and protecting its national interests.
Moreover, Irani remarked that the 40-day war underscored the strategic importance of indigenous defense power. This power was pivotal in preserving the balance of power and thwarting hostile plots, demonstrating the necessity of continued investment in advanced defense technologies.
The navy commander also paid tribute to the martyrs of the defense industry and expressed aspirations for further advancements in scientific and technological achievements under the guidance of Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
