The number of total martyrs among students since October 7th in the West Bank and Gaza reached 8,672 students and 1,583 wounded, according to the Education Ministry of the Palestinian National Authority. The education authorities indicated in a press release that the number of student martyrs in Gaza reached 8,572 and the number of wounded 14,089, while 100 students were martyred and 494 were injured in the West Bank. It added that 497 teachers were martyred and 3,402 were injured in both the West Bank and Gaza, and the Israeli occupation arrested 109 in the West Bank. The statement pointed out that 353 public schools, universities and 65 other buildings belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) were bombed and vandalized, 139 were severely damaged, 93 were completely destroyed, and 133 public schools were used as shelters in the Gaza Strip.
