Egyptian Ambassador in Lisbon Wael el Naggar held a meeting with Portuguese secretary of state for cultural affairs within the framework of preparations for the convocation of a joint committee next year. The meeting tackled the file of restoring smuggled Egyptian antiquities abroad and the efforts exerted to finish all need technical and legal measures in coordination with the authorities concerned in Portugal. Naggar reviewed a number of proposed cooperation fields in the cultural framework which include a memorandum of understanding proposed by the Egyptian side to cooperate in the field of antiquities and museums. Both sides discussed cooperation in the field of digitization and documenting of cultural heritage and activities to translate the most prominent literary works in Egypt and Portugal in Arabic and Portuguese languages.
