Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Abu Bakr Mahmoud asserted the keenness of a number of Egyptian companies on participating in major projects in Zambia in the infrastructure, construction and energy domains, underlining the Egyptian companies' extensive expertise in these fields, the Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday. This came during a meeting with the Permanent Secretary Administration in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at State House in Lusaka, Hope Situmbeko, to discuss boosting bilateral cooperation at the political, economic and investment levels, particularly in light of the two countries' membership in the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). The deputy minister also expressed Egypt's readiness to exchange expertise and build the capabilities of the Zambian cadres in a way that serves the two countries' interests and strengthens cooperation and coordination among the African countries.
