Tehran: Europe must bear the consequences of activating the 'snapback' mechanism against Iran, according to Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. He stated that such a threat lacks legal and political legitimacy. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araqchi emphasized that uranium enrichment is a fundamental and vital aspect of Iran's scientific achievements. He praised the efforts of Iranian scientists in developing this program, which he described as a significant accomplishment for the nation. Additionally, Araqchi honored the memory of seven Iranian nuclear scientists who were assassinated for their contributions to Iran's peaceful nuclear energy initiatives, asserting that their sacrifices have made the nuclear issue non-negotiable. Araqchi held the United States responsible for the current situation, citing its withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as a pivotal fault. He also criticized European countries for their failure to compensate for the U.S.'s exit from the agreement. In the same interview, Araqchi spoke about the positive state of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the effective cooperation and mutual understanding that has been achieved since the restoration of ties. Araqchi noted that Iran and Saudi Arabia share common views on many regional and Islamic world issues. Furthermore, Araqchi mentioned the close ties with Cairo and Manama. Although diplomatic relations have not been fully restored, he expressed optimism, stating that there is a strong willingness on both sides to establish formal diplomatic relations when conditions are favorable.
