Karachi: Five Iranian fishermen who were imprisoned in Karachi, Pakistan, have been released and have returned to their homeland.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the fishermen had been entangled in a legal case in Pakistan for over three years. Their release was secured following persistent efforts and follow-ups by Iranian authorities.

Upon receiving travel documents from the Iranian mission in Pakistan, the fishermen were transported to Karachi Airport. From there, they boarded a Taban Airlines flight bound for Mashhad, marking the end of their prolonged ordeal.

The Embassy and diplomatic missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan continue to prioritize the protection of their nationals' rights and are actively working towards the release of other detained sailors.
