Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty expressed on Sunday Egypt's readiness to develop relations with Cote d'Ivoire and contribute to the implementation of its national development plan. Abdelatty expressed Egypt's readiness to contribute to implementing development projects of high priority to Cote d'Ivoire, especially infrastructure, energy, ports, cargo and pharmaceutical projects. Abdelatty made the remarks during his meeting with Foreign minister of Cote d'Ivoire Kacou Houadja Adom on the sidelines of his participation in the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD). Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Abdelatty expressed appreciation for deeply-rooted relations with Cote D'Ivoire and Egypt's hope for enhancing political consultations and existing cooperation paths with the African country. He referred to Egypt's resumption of flights with the African country in July 2024 after it was suspended over the outbreak of Covid 19 pan demic. He lauded Cote d'Ivoire's participation in the training courses organized by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development in the capacity building domain. He underlined the importance of holding the second round of political consultations between the two countries' foreign ministries and furthering cooperation between the Egyptian Diplomatic Studies Institute and its counterpart in Cote d'Ivoire. The spokesman said the two sides underlined the importance of maintaining coordination as regards international nominations and issues related to the African Union.
