Foreign Minister Araqchi Emphasizes Iran’s Diplomatic Commitment to Regional Peace and Stability

Muscat: Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi affirmed Iran's steadfast commitment to diplomacy as a means of defending peace and stability, highlighting the importance of regional neighbors in achieving these goals.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araqchi shared these remarks on his X account following a brief visit to Oman, where he engaged in discussions with Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi. The meeting followed a previous encounter on March 7 in Jeddah, where the two diplomats participated in an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address the situation in Gaza, a session initiated by Iran.

In his social media post, Araqchi stated, "In line with our plans during the recent meeting in Jeddah, I paid a short visit to Muscat to review bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest and concern with FM @badralbusaidi." He emphasized Iran's dedication to diplomacy as a tool for safeguarding peace and stability, expressing his pleasure in collaborating with his Omani counterpart to achieve these objectives and reiterating that Iran's neighbors are a top priority.

In recent years, Iran has concentrated on enhancing its foreign policy through increased interactions with neighboring and regional countries. This approach aims not only to strengthen economic ties but also to counteract the effects of Western sanctions, primarily those imposed by the United States.
