Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, received on Tuesday Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Egypt's candidate for UNESCO Director-General, as part of periodic meetings to follow up on Egypt's candidacy for the position of Director-General of the organization. Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, said that the meeting discussed the latest developments in the Egyptian candidacy campaign, especially after the recent foreign tours organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Egyptian candidate, which included Mauritius, the Republic of the Congo and Angola. The Minister stressed the importance of continuing communication at the international level to learn about the visions of member states with the aim of presenting the candidate with a comprehensive electoral vision that reflects the aspirations of various countries of the world for the venerable organization, of which Egypt was one of the fou nding countries, including the importance of continuing tours to European, Asian and Latin American countries. The official spokesman added that Dr. Abdel-Ati also directed to provide all means of support and assistance to the nomination campaign, and to build on the Arab and African support that the Egyptian candidate received within the decisions of the recent Arab Summit and the Executive Council of the African Union.
