Former Iranian Oil Minister Denies Resignation Linked to Trump’s Claims

Tehran:Former Iranian oil minister Mohsen Paknejad has stated that his resignation was not influenced by claims made by US President Donald Trump.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Paknejad expressed his continued commitment to Iran, describing himself as a soldier of the homeland ready to sacrifice for the nation. He pointed out that even after being sanctioned by what he called Iran's number one enemy, oil production and exports persisted despite international pressure, crediting the resilience of oil industry workers.

Paknejad also remarked that Iran's adversaries had suffered significant setbacks, prompting them to resort to false claims. Following his resignation, President Pezeshkian appointed Hamid Bovard as the caretaker oil minister on October 4.
