The fourth session of the Egyptian-Romanian Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation kicked off in the Romanian capital of Bucharest on Tuesday 8/10/2024 under the co-chairmanship of the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation and the Romanian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism. During the meetings of this session, experts from both sides will discuss issues of common interest within the framework of Egypt's keenness on strengthening bilateral relations with Romania in all areas, especially at the economic, scientific and technical cooperation levels, the planning ministry said in a press release. This session seeks to push economic cooperation forward, remove all obstacles to its advancement, and increase joint investments, the ministry noted. The committee's agenda includes an Egyptian-Romanian business forum, with the participation of a great host of Egyptian and Romanian businessmen, to discuss ways to increase economic cooper ation between both countries by leveraging the key role of the private sector. The forum will also highlight areas of common interest, and investment opportunities in both countries, especially in agriculture, food industry, medical care, pharmaceutical industries, water management, renewable energy, tourism, and ICT industries, among others. Meanwhile, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat is expected to co-chair the ministerial committee's meeting tomorrow onWednesday 9/10/2024 with her Romanian counterpart. Mashat will also hold meetings with senior Romanian officials to discuss how to boost bilateral relations, as well as development priorities for both countries. Led by Mashat, the official Egyptian delegation includes representatives of the ministries agriculture, electricity, petroleum, social solidarity, investment, and culture, as well as the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC), the Suez Canal Economic Zone, the Egyptian Natural Gas Hold ing Company (EGAS), the Central Bank of Egypt, and the Arab Organization for Industrialization.
