Gaza Suffering Catastrophic Impact on Children Under Bombardment: Iran FM Spokesman.

Gaza: Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmail Baghaei Hamaneh, has condemned the devastating toll of the ongoing bombardments in Gaza, describing the territory as a "graveyard for kids". Writing on his X account on Tuesday on the occasion of the World Children's Day, Baghaei Hamaneh highlighted the catastrophic impact of the conflict on Gazan children. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baghaei Hamaneh stated that over 17,000 Palestinian children have been killed, with thousands missing and tens of thousands injured. He further noted that over 1,000 amputations have been performed, often without anesthesia, underscoring the dire medical situation. The spokesman also pointed out the broader humanitarian crisis affecting children in Gaza. He mentioned that more than 35,000 children have lost one or both parents, with many losing their entire families. Additionally, malnutrition has claimed 3,500 children, while countless others suffer from hunger, disease, and displacement, lacking basic living nece ssities. Baghaei Hamaneh referenced UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, who reported that up to 700 Palestinian children have been kidnapped and held hostages annually over the past decades. He called for global accountability and urged the international community to act against what he described as "atrocious crimes" targeting Palestinian children. He emphasized that these issues are deep wounds on the conscience of humanity and stated that it is high time for the world to stop the impunity for the crimes against Palestinian children. His comments come amid growing international concern over the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with rights organizations and global leaders advocating for an end to the violence and a resolution to the conflict.
