The navy said in a statement that the frigate had already set sail from Wilhelmsen Port with 240 military personnel on board. It was scheduled to anchor at the Greek island Crete before proceeding to the Red Sea. Early this year, another German frigate, Hessen, had taken part in the EU military mission in the Red Sea. It remained there for eight weeks before sailing back home. The EU states' are involved in a mission in the Red Sea -- designed to repel recurring missile and drone attacks by the Houthi militias, entrenched in Yemen.
