Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has criticized an Israeli air strike on Beirut's southern suburbs, asserting that it highlights the United States' inability or unwillingness to honor its commitments.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf expressed these views on a social media platform, X, indicating that the aggression by Israel against Dahiyeh once again reflects the United States' lack of will or capacity to implement its commitments. He described the traditional 'good cop, bad cop' strategy as no longer credible, suggesting that the United States cannot expect to gain concessions by allowing Israel to proceed with such actions.
Local media had reported earlier that Israeli warplanes conducted an air strike on Beirut's southern suburbs. The Israeli military claimed it targeted Hezbollah command sites during the attack. Ghalibaf emphasized that if the United States does not possess the will and ability to fulfill its commitments, discussions about continuing on the current path are futile.
