Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has announced Iran's commitment to enhancing strategic relations with Turkmenistan through infrastructure development and expanded cooperation in multiple sectors. Ghalibaf made these remarks during discussions with Turkmenistan's National Leader, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, who visited Tehran to participate in a ceremony honoring the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf emphasized the importance of collaboration in areas such as energy, transit, trade, and border management. He highlighted the necessity of eliminating bureaucratic barriers to foster strategic ties and expressed optimism about the joint initiative to establish a border market, which holds potential economic and cultural benefits. Ghalibaf also expressed gratitude to the Turkmen delegation for their visit, noting the enduring solidarity and support between the nations during challenging times, including wartime and current circumstances.

Ghalibaf reaffirmed Iran's commitment to the memorandum of understanding signed with the United States, while cautioning that Iran would uphold its stance if the other party failed to meet its obligations. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov acknowledged Ghalibaf as a longstanding ally and recognized the need for enhanced economic cooperation, advocating for increased trade between the two countries. He commended Iran's diplomatic approach, highlighting its patience and wisdom in demonstrating justice to the world, and expressed optimism for favorable outcomes in Iran's future negotiations with the United States.
