Gaza: The spokesperson for the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has issued fresh condemnations of Israel’s ceasefire violations in Gaza, urging the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take a firm and clear position on the ongoing Israeli crimes in the besieged territory.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Hazem Qassem, cited by Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen news network, stated that the people of Gaza continue to face Israel’s genocidal war and are still being prevented from entering the region and rebuilding their destroyed homes. Referring to the dire conditions amid the crippling siege of the Strip, Qassem stressed the need for a clear stance from Arab and Islamic countries.

The statement from Hamas followed a similar reaction from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, which denounced the regime for using winter as a weapon against the people of Gaza. Meanwhile, the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement separately called for international pressure on the occupying regime to open the crossings and allow humanitarian aid into the Palestinian territory.

On another note, the United Nations expressed grave concern over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza. The UN warned that recent rains have exposed thousands of families to extremely harsh weather conditions. Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN chief, criticized Israel for rejecting 23 UN requests to allow nearly 4,000 essential items, including tents, into Gaza.
