The new maternity hospital is a qualitative addition to the national healthcare system, said the Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi on Monday. In a statement after visiting the new hospital in Al-Sabah medical district, the minister expressed confidence that it would largely contribute to enhancing medical care for women and children. The minister, during his tour of the premises, discussed with officials detailed matters related to operating the hospital and checked readiness of the equipment. The project, one of the main ventures in the national development strategy, had been executed on a 65,000-sq-m plot of land. It was designed according to the latest international criteria. Moreover, the 289-bed hospital includes 59 labor chambers, 28 operation rooms, and 81 external clinics, in addition to pharmacies and laboratories. Source: Kuwait News Agency
