Yemen: Yemens Iran-aligned Houthi rebels have seized control of the country's entire Red Sea coast, a government official said on Friday. The move brings the rebels closer to gaining near total control of the Bab al-Mandab strait, a vital shipping corridor.

According to France24.com, yesterday's developments saw Saudi authorities issuing alerts about potential danger in areas near the border with Yemen. This came after reports that the Iran-backed Houthi rebels claimed Riyadh launched numerous air strikes on Yemen.

In related regional events, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded in southern Lebanon, as reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS). This occurred following the Israeli military's announcement that it had demolished tunnels belonging to Hezbollah.
