Beirut: A prominent Lebanese Sunni scholar says that the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, transformed the concept of resistance into a comprehensive global discourse and promoted the idea of the Islamic Ummah beyond sectarian divisions.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Sheikh Ghazi Hanina, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lebanese Gathering of Muslim Scholars, noted that Ayatollah Khamenei emerged as one of the most influential figures in the Muslim world after Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic. He played a key role in Islamic scholarship, jurisprudence, wisdom, and intellectual guidance.

Hanina highlighted that the martyred Leader consistently emphasized Muslim unity, describing it as the cornerstone of his vision for strengthening solidarity among Islamic nations and bringing together followers of different schools of thought. This approach, he said, was pursued not only in theory but also through practical engagement with diverse Islamic movements and institutions.

The Lebanese scholar pointed out that Ayatollah Khamenei viewed the Islamic Ummah as a community that transcended sectarian boundaries. His speeches, religious views, and political positions were all directed toward the entire Muslim world. Iran's support for Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Syria, Hanina said, reflected this broader vision of Islamic solidarity.

Hanina stressed the importance of preserving the late leader's intellectual legacy by promoting unity, scientific advancement, and economic self-reliance. He noted that Ayatollah Khamenei expanded the concept of resistance beyond the military sphere to include culture, media, politics, diplomacy, art, and economic resilience. This multidimensional approach contributed to strengthening the Axis of Resistance through educational, logistical, and coordinating efforts.

Resistance, he added, has evolved into a global cause, attracting supporters in many countries, including in the West, particularly over the Palestinian issue. Hanina called on scholars, media professionals, and policymakers to preserve and pass on the martyred Leader's intellectual legacy to future generations.
