India and Pakistan Express Willingness to De-escalate Amid Rising Tensions

Islamabad: India and Pakistan have announced their readiness to de-escalate recent hostilities, contingent on mutual reciprocation. Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated that Islamabad is prepared to consider de-escalation if India ceases further attacks. However, he cautioned that any additional strikes from New Delhi would provoke a response from Pakistan.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Dar conveyed this message to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio after discussions with New Delhi. Dar emphasized that Pakistan's response was a result of exhausted patience, adding that if India halts its actions, Islamabad would also contemplate stopping its retaliatory measures.

In parallel, Indian Wing Commander Vyomika Singh expressed New Delhi's commitment to non-escalation, provided Pakistan reciprocates. Singh noted that Pakistani ground forces were seen mobilizing towards forward areas, suggesting potential for further conflict escalation.

The current situation escalated after both nations exchanged missile fire, marking a significant increase in tensions. This surge in hostilities was triggered by a terror attack in Pahalgam, a town in Indian-administered Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of numerous tourists.
