Tehran: Senior officials from Iran and Afghanistan stressed the need to continue cooperation on border management during a phone call on Sunday. Kazem Gharibabadi, deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, spoke with Noorullah Noori, Afghanistan's minister of borders and tribal affairs, as part of ongoing engagement between the two neighbors on border-related issues.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the call, the two sides emphasized the importance of maintaining border cooperation, particularly the continuation of work to update border documents and markers. They also agreed to accelerate the holding of joint technical and legal meetings.
Additionally, the agreement reached during the conversation outlined that the next meeting of senior Iranian and Afghan border officials would be held in Iran in the next Iranian calendar year.
