Tehran: Senior Iranian and Iraqi officials have signed four agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at upgrading bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries. The documents were signed on Thursday in the presence of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi during the Iraqi premier's official visit to Tehran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the four documents cover various sectors including road freight transportation, the construction of the Khosravi-Khanaqin-Baghdad railway, the establishment of a sister-city relationship between Tehran and Baghdad, and cooperation in public administration, training, and human resources management. These agreements were signed by senior officials from both countries at the Sa'dabad Cultural-Historical Complex in Tehran, reflecting a significant step forward in fostering closer ties and collaboration between Iran and Iraq.
